发明名称 Improvements relating to temperature control for a compartmental vehicle
摘要 827,774. Automatic temperature-control systems. STONE & CO. (DEPTFORD) Ltd., J. April 9, 1958 [April 15, 1957], No. 12235/57. Class 38 (4). In a heating system for a vehicle which is divided into separate compartments and in which the compartments are supplied with air from an automatically-controlled common airconditioning or heating equipment, auxiliary electric heaters are provided in each compartment and the thermostat of the common equipment is automatically reset if they are switched on. In one embodiment, for an A.C. supply, the current supplied to the auxiliary heater 1 is measured by a current transformer 7 which opposes a constant-voltage supply 8 to a bias heater 5 on the thermostat 4 of the common (undisclosed) heating system. Thus, if one or more of the auxiliary heaters 1 are switched on, the current through the bias heater 5 is reduced, thereby effectively raising the setting of the thermostat 4 to offset the fact that warm air from the auxiliary heaters 1 will flow past the thermostat 4 and would otherwise cause it to falsely reduce the common heating. In a modification, Fig. 2 (not shown), for a D.C. system, the bias heater is energized via an electromagnetic interrupter which includes a winding responsive to the current supplied to the auxiliary heaters. In a further modification, Fig. 3 (not shown), the bias heater 1 is connected in parallel with the bias heater on an auxiliary cycling thermostat which is additionally subjected to bias in accordance with the current supplied to the auxiliary heaters. The following optional extras are discussed: (1) a thermostat to cut-off the compartment heating if the vehicle temperature exceeds the controlled range; (2) a contactor to open when all, or a predetermined portion of the compartment heaters are switched on; (3) provision for raising the effective setting of the main thermostat to raise the temperature of the whole vehicle when the compartment heaters have been automatically open-circuited; (4) additional thermostats controlling the compartment heaters may be provided; (5) the supply for the compartment heaters may be arranged to be taken from the generator only of the vehicle (to save the battery).
