METHOD FOR THE PRODUCTION OF OLEFINS COMPRISING 8 TO 12 CARBON ATOMS

Preparation of 8-12C olefins (I) from 4-6C olefin, by four-step synthesis, comprises: hydroformylation of at least one olefin; hydrogenation of the obtained aldehyde to alcohol; removal of water from the alcohol to form 1-olefin; and extracting the 1-olefin by metathesis under ethylene separation to form olefin. Independent claims are also included for: (1) a mixture (II) exhibiting (8-12C) olefin produced by (I); and (2) isooctene (III) produced by (I), in which 4C form is used as a reactant, which has isobutene (more than 3 wt.%).
