A method for activating CD8 T cells is provided to prevent and treat diseases caused by virus infection such as influenza virus by treating virus infection and preventing virus reinfection. The method for activating CD8 T cells comprises the steps of: separating CD8 T cells from a biological sample of an individual through density gradient centrifugation, magnetic activated cell sorter, centrifugal elutriation or fluorescent activated cell sorter; and culturing the separated CD8 T cells in a medium containing cytokines including GM-CSF(granulocyte-macrophase colony-stimulating factor), IFN-gamma(interferon-gamma), TNF-alpha(tumor necrosis factor-alpha), lectin, IL-2(interleukin-2) and IL-4 for 1-4 days, wherein the biological sample is blood, plasma, lymph node, spleen, thymus or bone marrow. A composition for preventing or treating diseases caused by virus infection comprises the activated CD8 T cells, wherein the virus is Orthomyxoviridae.
