A light-diffusing resin membrane formed by photocuring a photocurable liquid resin composition comprising as the essential components a photopolymerizable monomer (A), an organic compound (B) incompatible with the monomer (A), a common solvent (C) compatible with both the monomer (A) and the compound (B), and a photopolymerization initiator (D); light-diffusing films having the membrane on the surface thereof; edge-type backlight units made by using the films; and liquid crystal display devices equipped with the units.
