COMMON VOLTAGE GENERATOR AND DISPLAY DEVICE HAVING THE SAME

A common voltage generator and a display device having the same are provided to regulate common voltage level and to shorten the level regulating time by controlling a common voltage generating unit by a host system by exchanging signals between the host system and the common voltage generating unit. A common voltage generator includes a common voltage converting unit(424) for converting power voltage applied from the outside into common voltage(Vcom) and outputting the common voltage to a display panel and a common voltage regulating unit(422) for applying a control signal(CV) for regulating the common voltage level to the common voltage converting unit by exchanging signals with an external host system. The common voltage regulating unit is a memory for storing information about the common voltage level.
