The rotor for an induction voltage regulator comprises a magnetic core 12 of substantially circular laminations provided with slots 13, 14 in which layer windings 25, 29 are wound, the windings being formed about frusto-conical formers 35 at each end of the core. Grooves 40 are provided in members 35 to accommodate tapes 41 for tying the turns of the windings together. Further members 49 also guide the winding during the winding process and are removable. Random wound short-circuit windings 46 are also provided in slots in the core. |
