A fitting for connecting pipes and, in particular, fittings made of plastic and, even more particularly, fittings for connecting PEX or composite pipes, is disclosed. The fitting is used in conjunction with crimp rings which are positioned over the connected pipe either adjacent to, or abutting against, stopper rings on the fitting and adjacent to the end of th e pipe.
