A backlight assembly, and a display device having the same are provided to reduce a twisting noise generated at the time of twisting of the backlight assembly by reducing a contact area between a light guide plate and a mold frame. A lamp unit(200) generates light. A light guide plate(300) has a movement preventing unit and guides the light. A reception container(400) includes a reception groove receiving the movement preventing unit and preventing a movement of the light guide plate, and receives the light guide plate and the lamp unit. The movement preventing unit has a contact surface only partially contacting the receiving groove. The movement preventing unit has a contact surface formed as a curved shape.
