An apparatus and a method for processing audio data are provided to offer better sound quality to a user by effectively reducing a wind noise in a device which is capable of recording. A wind noise detecting unit(310) detects an interval in which a wind noise exists from an inputted audio signal. A signal processing unit(320) reduces a low frequency band signal of the audio signal in the detected wind noise interval. The wind noise detecting unit(310) detects an interval in which a difference value between a left-channel input audio signal and a right-channel input signal exceeds a certain threshold value as the wind noise interval.
