A driving device of a plasma display panel is provided to reduce an overcurrent value of the current flowing in the driving device when address pulse of high and low levels continuously repeated is generated, by using a protecting unit having plural resistances and plural capacitors. A driving device for applying a driving signal to each electrode of a plasma display panel(1) having at least one discharge electrode extended in one direction, address electrodes(Cp1~Cpm) extended across the discharge electrode, and discharge cells defined in each crossing region of the electrodes includes an address voltage source(Va) outputting address voltage; an address driving IC(Integrated Circuit,500) having first switching elements(S11~Sm1) of which one end is connected to the address voltage source and second switching elements(S12~Sm2) connected between the other end of the first switching element and a ground terminal, and outputting the address voltage and address pulse having ground voltage to the address electrodes; and a protecting unit(510) protecting the address driving IC from the current generated by the address pulse.
