METHOD FOR SEARCHING TRAVEL ROUTE OF THE VEHICLE USING TRAFFIC INFORMATION

A vehicle travel route searching method using traffic information is provided to let a vehicle travel from the starting place to the destination at optimal time by dividing traffic information according to day and time band, calculating average traveling speed of each road, and then searching a travel route by reflecting the average traveling speed of each road. A vehicle travel route searching method using traffic information comprises the steps of: collecting traffic information sent to a traffic information receiver(204) and calculating average traveling speed of each road by a control unit(210) and saving the calculated average traveling speed in a traffic information storage unit(212); reading map data between the starting place of the vehicle and the destination from a map data storage unit(208) by the control unit if a travel route searching command is input from a command input unit(216) and reading the average traveling speed of each road in the map data from the traffic information storage unit; and searching a travel route from the starting place of the vehicle to the destination by reflecting the read average traveling speed to each road of the map data.
