A multi-function peripheral having a compact structure is provided to reduce the volume of the multi-function peripheral by decreasing the sizes of an image reading unit and a paper feeding unit. A multi-function peripheral(300) includes a paper feeding unit(310), an image forming unit(320) for forming an image on paper supplied from the paper feeding unit, a paper discharging unit(330), an image reading unit(340) exchanging data with the image forming unit, a controller for controlling the operations of the paper feeding unit, the image forming unit, the paper discharging unit and the image reading unit, and a housing(301) for accommodating the paper feeding unit, the image forming unit, the paper discharging unit and the image reading unit. The paper feeding unit, the image forming unit, the paper discharging unit and the image reading unit are sequentially stacked in the housing. The housing includes a paper inlet(302) into which a part of paper is inserted, and a paper outlet(303) formed corresponding to the paper discharging unit. The image reading unit includes an image reading part having a scan region smaller than a predetermined standard paper size.
