A sound output control method for an audio device is provided to prevent sound output from being converted from an ear phone to a speaker by checking whether the ear phone is detached from a mobile device with the speaker by user's mistake, thereby improving convenience of the user. A sound output control method for an audio device includes the steps of: detecting whether an ear phone is detached or not(S101); muting sound output while converting the sound output to a speaker when the ear phone outputting sound is detached(S102); sending a message of informing the detachment of the ear phone to a user(S103); and releasing muting through user's confirmation for the message(S108).
