EXHAUST SYSTEM AND ASSOCIATED EXHAUST TREATMENT DEVICE

An exhaust system and an associated exhaust treatment device are provided to reduce thermal fatigue under a thermal condition even when both of an austenitic material and a ferrite material are used in a structure. An exhaust treatment device comprises a housing(10) in which at least one exhaust treatment insert(11) is arranged. The housing includes at least two housing parts(13,14) in which at least one of the two housing parts is made of a ferrite material and the other of the two housing parts is made of an austenitic material. The housing part which is made of the ferrite material is kept safe from the housing part which is made of the austenitic material, by a connection portion(5) which is made of a material having a thermal expansion coefficient falling in a range between that of the ferrite material and that of the austenitic material.
