A device and a method for determining/curing virus infection of an MBR(Master Boot Record) located in a changed position are provided to check and cure virus in case that the MBR is stored in the changed position. The first storing part(310) stores the MBR. A virus checker(200) searches a storing position of the MBR in the first storing part, and determines and cures the virus infection of the MBR. The virus checker searches the storing position of the MBR by reading information for the position storing the MBR from the first or second storing part. The second storing part stores checked items or needed setting information in case that a computer is booted. The second storing part is a CMOS(Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor)(260).
