A method and an apparatus for using a memory through logging in by each user in a mobile terminal are provided to assign an ID and a password to each user so that each user can commonly use a mobile terminal. Each user sets his/her ID and a password and stores them in a mobile terminal(303). When a particular user logs in the mobile terminal by using his/her set ID and password(306), data existing in a memory region of the corresponding user is read and copied to a common memory region(309). As the data is coped to the common memory region, the user can use a function of the mobile terminal(312).
