<p>The method involves heating a crosspiece (6) of bumper face bar (5) in a forming tool at a temperature beyond AC3. A towing coupler (3) is installed in a hole defined in the crosspiece. The crosspiece is cooled while it remains in the tool. The crosspiece due to its thermal expansion coefficient retracts the coupler during tempering process of the crosspiece. The crosspiece is extracted out of the tool.</p> |
