A stopper head for a CNC lathe is provided to absorb an impact and prevent noise by allowing a material fed from a bar feed to a machining chuck to contact the stopper head before the material reaches the chuck. In a stopper head for a CNC lathe, the structure of a piston(7) inserted into a cylinder(2) has a multi-step layer. A linear bearing portion is inserted into a tip end layer having the thinnest diameter. The linear bearing portion has a cylindrical shape and has a through-hole portion at a central portion thereof. A plurality of oil passages are formed on the outer peripheral surface of the through-hole portion. A plurality of ball bearings are formed lengthwise on the inner peripheral surface of the through-hole. A spring is inserted into a middle layer of the piston. A snap ring(12) is inserted into a snap ring groove(4).
