Fabrication of components of ceramic materials, in particular piezo-electric materials, used a preformer composed of at least one sheet of an elastic material. The method includes a stage of deformation of the preformer before firing. - The fabrication operation illustrated by the drawing includes: - (a) mixing of powders, ceramic precursors and organic additives; - (b) addition of seeds, crystals, monocrystals or porogenic; - (c) homogenisation of paste; - (d) production of preformer by casting or extrusion; - (e) modification of structure; - (f) deformation of preformer; - (g) modification of preformer; - (h) firing; and - (i) finishing operations.
