<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably correct color smear by adjusting the sensitivity of a detection means for detecting the color smear, without providing a special memory, circuit, etc., in a color image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: In this color image forming apparatus 1, a resist sensor 7 is arranged near a transport/transfer belt 4 and provided with a light emitting element and a light receiving element and outputs a detection signal for an output voltage corresponding to the density of a patch for adjusting, when the resist sensor 7 detects the patch for adjusting formed on the transport/transfer belt 4, a binary circuit 11 binarizes the detection signal from the resist sensor 7 according to a predetermined threshold value, the detection signal is inputted to a light amount adjusting means through the binary circuit 11, and the light amount adjusting means adjusts a light amount of the light emitting element of the resist sensor 7, so as to binarize the detection signal, when the detection signal is smaller than a threshold value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
