<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an occupant crash protection device at a collision of a vehicle capable of efficiently reducing difficulties of a hip joint part, while relaxing stretching of legs of an occupant at the time of a front collision of the vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: This device is provided with a collision detection means 11 for detecting the front collision such as a head-on collision, an oblique collision and offset collision of the vehicle 1 and a hip joint part widening means 13 for widening an angle θ formed between the waist part Dw and the thigh part Dt of the occupant D sitting on a seat 12 by the detection of the front collision. When pressing force is inputted into the hip joint part of the occupant D via the legs at the time of the front collision, the load is inputted into a part having comparatively high rigidity from a thighbone via a thick part of the pelvis, and thereby high supporting rigidity against the pressing force can be obtained.
