<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video display device and a video display method in which the brightness of display video can easily be varied with simple configuration without degrading gradation which is had by a video signal. <P>SOLUTION: A display panel is provided with a plurality of electron discharge elements 42 emitting electrons by the application of a voltage pulse and a screen 51 which is installed opposed to the plurality of electron discharge elements 42 and which emits light by receiving the electrons discharged from the plurality of electron discharge elements 42. Then, the level of an acceleration voltage E2 for drawing electrons emitted from the plurality of electron discharge elements 42 to the screen 51 is varied in accordance with a display mode showing the brightness of display video. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
