PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid electrolytic capacitor in which the occurrence of a short-circuit is prevented by managing a moisture content in a capacitor element more conveniently. SOLUTION: Cathode foil composed of a valve metal and anode foil composed of a valve metal having an oxide film formed on a surface are wound through a separator to form a capacitor element, and a solid electrolytic layer is formed of a polymerizable monomer and a conductive polymer impregnated with an oxidizing agent. In such a solid electrolytic capacitor, the capacitor element in which the solid electrolytic layer is formed is sealed in an enclosure case together with B-type dry silica gel holding a predetermined quantity of moisture.
