PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing coke forming lump coal with excellent strength by enhancing pseudo granulating property of particles with a small amount of added caking agent to the dried and classified fine coal and then adding caking additive and kneading to form or coagulate to the lump coal. SOLUTION: The invention relates to the method for producing coke for charging into coke oven comprising a step of drying coal and then or at the same time classifying the coal into fine particle coal and coarse coal grains, a step of adding 5-12% of the caking agent to the dust coal with≤6% of water content, adding≥0.005% of an auxiliary material for caking after kneading or at the same time to the kneading and forming or granulating to lump coal, and a step of mixing the lump coal with the coarse coal grains to charge into the coke oven.
