PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain mounting structure of an instrument panel having less uncomfortable feeling of an occupant in the case of collision. SOLUTION: A bracket 3 is turnably constituted with respect to a steering support member 1, and a fixing mechanism restricting the turning of the bracket 3 with respect to the steering support member 1 is provided. In the case of the front collision, such a state that the bracket 3 remains stationary with respect to the steering support member 1 by the fixing mechanism is released. The bracket 3 is made to be turnable with respect to the steering support member 1 along with the forward movement of the instrument panel 4 by the external force at the time of collision. At least a part of the energy input to the instrument panel 4 by the external force is absorbed by the friction resistance when the bracket 3 is turned. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
