PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To establish a method for producing a high Cr steel slab having a little surface flaw by giving a way suitably applying the necessary minimum limit cares to the high Cr steel slab containing N. SOLUTION: When the steel slab is produced by applying a continuous casting to the steel containing 8-10 mass% Cr and 0.03-0.05 mass% N to make a cast slab and successively, the cast slab is applied to a rolling; in the case of being N content [N(ppm)] exceeding 44.7 times of Cr content [Cr(mass%)], the surface layer coming to the depth of ä([N(ppm)]-44.7[Cr(mass%)])/25}mm, is removed.
