PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a methane fermentation tank in which a bubble of biogas or the like, a hard-to-solubilize organic solid or other foreign matter, each of which is stuck to the surface of a carrier, is removed effectively so that the carrier can be dispersed uniformly in a fermented liquid. SOLUTION: An agitating means 21, which has a plurality of plate-like and/or bar-like stirrers 22 each crossing to the upper and lower sides of an surface of the fermented liquid in the methane fermentation tank 10 and a rotating means for rotating stirrers horizontally while supporting them, is arranged in the methane fermentation tank 10.
