PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cationic surfactant having high solubility in an organic solvent. SOLUTION: Such a compound is used as the cationic surfactant that one carbon has three side chains consisting of a single-bond or 1-5C alkylene group, a 6-20C arylene group and bivalent connection group selected from the group consisting of -O-, -S-, -CO-, -NR- and these combinations and one of three side chains has a quaternary ammonium group at the terminal end.
