PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an implant for lengthening the lateral column of the foot. SOLUTION: This implant is configured for engagement across the calcaneocuboidal joint or across a space formed between two bone segments of the calcaneal bone. The implant includes a plate 10 configured as positioning on the bone segments and includes an array of screw holes 15 at its opposite ends arranged for solid fixation to the corresponding bone using bone screws. The implant includes a wedge 20 projecting from the bone engaging surface of the plate 10. The wedge has a width that is tapered toward the plantar aspect and toward the medial aspect of the foot.
