<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem in measuring the blood pressure in a fingertip, a peripheral part of a living body, wherein the internal pressure of a cuff has to be controlled in lower pressure than in the measurement of the blood pressure in an upper arm; and a problem in the measurement of the blood pressure by using a cuff, an air supply pump and a pressure gauge which are conventionally used in a blood pressure monitor to measure the blood pressure in an upper arm, wherein an error may be generated. <P>SOLUTION: The cuff of the blood pressure monitor is to press the living body in contact if the internal pressure of the cuff exceeds a prescribed value, and even if the internal pressure is relatively high such as that of a conventional cuff, the pressure with which the cuff presses a part of the living body is reduced. Accordingly, the air pump, the pressure gauge, etc. for the conventional blood pressure monitor to measure the blood pressure in an upper arm can be used also in the blood pressure monitor to measure the blood pressure in the peripheral part of the living body. In this way, the blood pressure monitor and the method of measuring the blood pressure for accurately measuring the blood pressure can be provided. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
