摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve electron beam focusing efficiency and to enhance light emission uniformity of a unit pixel. <P>SOLUTION: This electron emission device includes: cathode electrodes 14 formed on a substrate 10; gate electrodes 18 insulated from the cathode electrodes 14 and formed along a direction crossing the cathode electrode 14; and electron emission parts 24 electrically connected to the cathode electrodes 14. The cathode electrode 14 includes: main electrodes 141 each having an opening portion 20 formed therein, isolate electrodes 142 placed in the opening portion 20 and formed by being spaced apart from the main electrodes 141 and each having at least one via hole 22 formed therein; and resistance layers 143 each formed between the main electrode 141 and the isolate electrode 142. The electron emission part 24 is formed in the via hole 22 so as to contact the isolate electrodes 142, and is so formed that the height of the electron emission part 24 is set smaller than that of the isolate electrode 142.
