摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radiation-curable polyurethane resin for magnetic recording media, which can realize lower non-magnetic layers capable of ensuring sufficient coating film strength even in lower radiation doses.

SOLUTION: This radiation-curable polyurethane resin for the magnetic recording media is characterized in that a polyurethane resin which has active hydrogen atoms and sulfur-containing polar groups in an amount of 0.05 to 0.10 mmol/g in the molecule and whose resin skeleton is formed from only aliphatic groups is modified into the radiation-curable type with an acrylic double bond-having compound at the active hydrogen atoms. A lower layer non-magnetic layer 2 formed from the produced radiation-curable polyurethane resin is formed on one side of a base film 4.
