<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem of an electric connector to which a connection member is inserted without inserting force, wherein in a method for moving a slider in the direction same as the insertion direction of the connection member and in the method for using a cover opened and closed by rotation, when moving the slider and closing the cover, a finger easily touches the connection member, thereby shifting the connection member. <P>SOLUTION: In the electric connector, after a connection member 2 is inserted into a first insertion recess part 7 of a base housing 3 along a first direction X1, a U-shaped part 12 of a cover housing 5 is pushed straight into a second insertion recess part 8 of the base housing 2 along the direction perpendicular to the insertion direction (the first direction X1) of the connection member 2, thereby pushing the connection member 2 to a contact part 4e of a contact 4.
