PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve user-friendliness at the time of focussing in an electronic camera provided with a display monitor and an electronic viewfinder. SOLUTION: When a focus adjustment method of the electronic camera is set in a manual focus (MF) mode, a controller 11 makes an EVF (electronic viewfinder) 21 display a zoomed-in through image and makes an LCD monitor 18 display an unmagnified through image. The controller 11 further makes the EVF 21 display a corresponding through image (zoomed) at the center of an unzoomed-in photographed image and automatically sets display magnification to double. The controller 11 displays a frame showing the range of the through image (zoomed) displayed on the EVF 21 in the LCD monitor 18 while overlapping the range on the through image (unmagnification). The controller 11 moves the position of the through image (zoomed) displayed on the LCD monitor 18 (that is, target range of electronic zoom-in processing) in the direction shown by a cross key operation signal.
