PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an edit picture for efficiently editing an image. SOLUTION: A CPU 104 displays, on a monitor 105, an image edit picture comprised of a work area for displaying and editing an image, a work tray area for displaying a thumbnail while retracting the image and a tool display area where a tool for editing an image is disposed, and displays a plurality of edit object images selected by a user in the work area. When a mouse 101 is operated by the user and an edit object image displayed in the work area is moved to the work tray area, the edit object image is erased from the work area and a thumbnail image of the relevant edit object image is displayed in the work tray area.
