PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a two-cycle engine having a low emission gas value, and a simple constitution. SOLUTION: The two-cycle engine comprises a cylinder (2) in which a combustion chamber (3) is formed, and an intake passage (9) for supplying a fuel-air mixture and combustion air. In the engine, a piston (5) is supported in the cylinder (2), the combustion chamber (3) is allowed to communicate with a crank case (4) at a specified position of the piston (5) by means of at least one transfer passage (16, 18). A part (29) of the intake passage (9) is formed in a carburetor (10), in which a throttle valve (25) for controlling the fluid transverse-section of the intake passage (9) is rotatably supported. A fuel hole (22) is opened in the part (29) of the intake passage formed in the carburetor (10), and the intake passage (9) is separated into a mixture passage (11) and an air passage (13) in the downstream of the carburetor (10). In the two-cycle engine, a means (fluidity-inducing element 28) for increasing the velocity of the fluid in the region of the fuel hole (22) is provided in the throttle valve (25).
