PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine capable of improving torque, in the internal combustion engine for introducing only an exhaust flow of a partial cylinder into a turbine of a turbocharger unit. SOLUTION: This internal combustion engine 1 has a turbocharger 18 for introducing only the exhaust flow of the partial cylinder 2 (a right bank in Fig.) into the turbine. An openable-closable pulse supercharging opening-closing valve 12 is independently arranged with respective cylinders 2 on an intake passage 5 of the cylinder 2 for introducing the exhaust flow into the turbine. Exhaust efficiency in overlapping is improved by the pulse supercharging opening-closing valve 12, and torque-up can be realized by ignition timing advance control by reduction in a residual gas quantity.
