PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating method which can lower and diminish time and effort and cost of coating, save a coating and also coat uniformly, and to provide a coater which is used therefor, has this kinds of advantage, also simple in structure to be decreased in cost and easy in maintenance further. SOLUTION: First, a material 1 to be coated, in which sections of the direction crossing at right angle with a transporting direction are same over the transporting direction, is installed to a transporting part 2, and then the coating P is coated in somewhat larger quantity (considerably much) on the peripheral surface of the tip end part side the transporting direction of the material 1 to be coated which is installed to the transporting part 2. Thereafter, the transporting part 2 is transferred in the straight line direction, and the material 1 to be coated is passed through a pattern hole 3 of a similar figure a little larger than the cross section in the direction crossing vertical to the transporting direction. A pattern plate 6a forming the pattern hole 3 is finely vibrated, so that the coating P is made to extend on all the peripheral surface along the transporting direction of the material 1 to be coated and a coating film is formed on the surface of the material 1 to be coated.
