PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin diameter hollow fiber membrane formed from fluororesin having high permeability and high rupture resistance and strong elongation, preferably used for water treating field. SOLUTION: A resin solution consisting of fluororesin and a lean solvent is held for 5 to 100 seconds at a temperature higher than a crystallization temperature of the resin solution by 20 to 50°C, then is formed into hollow fibers to produce hollow fiber membrane. The hollow fiber membrane consisting of fluororesin has a pure water permeability of 0.4m<SP>3</SP>/m<SP>2</SP>×hr or more at 100kPa, 25°C, a rupture strength of 6Mpa or more, a rupture elongation of 50% or more, and an outer diameter of 300 to 800μm.
