<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading method and a system whereby an operator can execute various settings by a simple operation and a client can acquire image data obtained by scanning in a state that the security of the client is sufficiently assured. <P>SOLUTION: The image reading system includes: an image reading apparatus; and an information processing apparatus connected to the image reading apparatus via a network, and shared storage areas in/from which the image reading apparatus and the information processing apparatus can read and write data are provided in the image reading apparatus, or an electronic computer, or the other apparatus connected to the network. The information processing apparatus generates an image link object associated with information with respect to the scanning and transmits scanning preparation information including the information with respect to the scanning to the image reading apparatus. The image reading apparatus executes the scanning on the basis of the received scanning preparation information and stores the image data obtained by the scanning to the shared storage areas in a file form. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
