<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical routing apparatus capable of recognizing a plurality of destination information items at high speed and quickly selecting routing corresponding to the destination information items, and an optical routing method. <P>SOLUTION: A label recognition section 101 includes: a label detection section for detecting identification information for the input start of the destination information items included in the label 110a of an optical signal 110; and a destination information coincidence discrimination section that sequentially compares the destination information items with a plurality of destination information objects S2 corresponding to the destination information items of the optical signal 110 received from a switch control section 102 on the opportunity of the detection of the identification information items by the label detection section to discriminate coincidence between the both.
