PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of easily detecting a malfunction of a linear solenoid driving device in a short period of time. SOLUTION: A device for detecting the malfuntion of the linear solenoid driving device comprises a linear solenoid displaced by the predetermined amount depending on the amount of the driving current, a driving transistor for controlling the current flowing the linear solenoid on the basis of the instruction from the control part, and a current detecting part for detecting the current. The method for detecting the malfuntion of the linear solenoid driving device comprises the steps of plotting an upper and a lower current limit respectively set to a plurality of predetermined target current values, detecting the current (the feedback current) flowing the linear solenoid by obtaining an upper and a lower regression line on the basis of the plotted points with the least-square method, determining the feedback current value satisfying the lower regression line≤the feedback current value≤the upper regression line, and determining the linear solenoid driving device malfuntion when the condition, the lower regression line≤the feedback current value≤the upper regression line, is not satisfied.
