PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide stretchable paper having excellent elongation characteristics, printing suitability, adhesiveness to labels or films and laminate adhesiveness. SOLUTION: The stretchable paper 1 is characterized as follows. The stretchable paper has≥0.4 to≤1.1 mm intervals R and S in the transverse direction of shrinking grooves 3 and 4,≥10μm depth T of the shrinking groove 4 and≤150μm depth U of the shrinking groove 3. The ratio of the length V of a flat part in a valley part in the transverse direction of the shrinking groove 3 relatively to the interval R in the transverse direction of the shrinking groove 3 is≥0.1 to≤0.5.
