PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antioxidant having high active oxygen removability and excellent in stability. SOLUTION: The antioxidant contains a colloid of an alloy composed of two or more kinds of noble metals as an active ingredient, wherein the colloid of the alloy of the noble metals is obtained by reducing two or more kinds of noble metal salts by one, two, or more kinds of reducing agents selected from citric acid or its salt, ascorbic acid or its derivative, sodium borohydride, and hydrazine.
