PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external preparation for skin which has low irritation, in which sensory irritation of diols used in the preparation is solved, has high safety to the skin and further has adequate moisturizing feeling and excellent in feelings upon use. SOLUTION: The external preparation for skin which has low irritation comprises 1,2-pentanediol and polyoxyethylene methylglucoside.
