PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a pneumatic tire in which dimensional accuracy of a product tire is enhanced by measuring the outer peripheral length of a tire constituting member having projecting portion. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of the pneumatic tire comprises a step of sticking a plurality of strip like members 3 cut into a predetermined width onto the peripheral face 2 of a shaping drum 1 whose diameter can be enlarged such that the adjacent strip like members 3 overlap each other and form overlapping portions 4 to form a tire constituting member 5, a step enlarging the diameter of the shaping drum 1 by a predetermined quantity, a step of measuring the outer peripheral length of the tire constituting member 5 by bringing a length measuring device 6 constituted by spanning an endless belt 8 between two roller 7a, 7b into contact with the tire constituting member 5 formed on the shaping drum 1, and a step of correcting the enlarging quantity of the shaping drum 1 based on the measuring result of the outer peripheral length. The measuring accuracy of the outer peripheral length is enhanced because the endless belt 8 follows the shape of the projecting portions formed in the overlapping portions 4.
