PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture the cut sheets of a strip member in turn and to enable the use of a guide member of a simple structure without a movable part when the preceding cut sheet and the succeeding cut sheet are joined together while the length of the superposition part of the sheets is adjusted to be constant. SOLUTION: The left side surface of the strip member 2 is attracted to a guide surface 65 by a magnetic force generating means 63 in the guide member 62, and a constant amount of it is extracted onto a conveyer belt 13 by an unillustrated extraction means while being in contact with the guide surface 65. The extracted strip member 2, after being cut by a cutter 26 along the side edge of the conveyer belt 13, is moved by the conveyer belt 13 so that its rear end becomes a line L2 separated by a constant distance from a surface including the guide surface 65. A constant amount of the succeeding strip member 2 is extracted so that its left edge is arranged on the intersection line L1 between the surface including the guide surface 65 and the conveyer belt 13 to be joined to the rear end of the preceding strip member with a constant amount superposed.
