PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a closing cooling method and a closing cooling device capable of rapidly cooling a bottom part of a work which is hot by the closing. SOLUTION: The closing cooling device 70 for cooling a work 9 which is hot by the closing to form a bottom part 9c by closing an open end of the cylindrical work 9 comprises a tilting mechanism 151 to tilt the work 9 so that the bottom part 9c is directed downwardly, and a cooling water tank 155 to store cooling water.
