PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a fine particle of an inorganic oxide, which has high dispersibility in an organic solvent and high affinity with an organic polymer for forming a thin film. SOLUTION: The fine particle of the inorganic oxide, which has the particle size of 5 nm to 1μm, is prepared by subjecting a precursor of the inorganic oxide to hydrolysis and condensation reactions in a w/o type emulsion prepared by emulsifying a water phase in an oil phase and dissolving a cationic surfactant in the oil phase.
