A sealing apparatus of a butterfly valve is provided to interrupt flow of water by adhering between the outer side of a disc and a body when the disc of the butterfly valve is closed. In a sealing apparatus of a butterfly valve, a packing groove(25) is formed on the outer side of a disc(20). An engagement jaw is formed in the packing groove. The separation of the packing from the packing groove is prevented by forming an engagement boss. A steel sheet having an inclined surface is installed in a body with which the packing makes contact. The tip end of the packing makes contact with the steel sheet so as to be adhered to the steel sheet.
